SAILOR 6390: technical guide of the NAVTEX kit - receiver, panel 6004, antenna
NAVTEX is a service that transmits navigational and meteorological warnings to its area by radio: changes in the situation, work, storm messages. The receiver receives them automatically and stores them - the watchman has to read them. For ships that fall under the requirements for equipment, such a receiver is mandatory, and that is why the kit SAILOR 6390 Certificates are of key importance: without them, equipment will not be accepted during the examination.

What's in delivery
The kit is assembled for installation without pre-order: receiver SAILOR 6390 Navtex Receiver, touch panel control SAILOR 6004 Control Panel with a diagonal of 7 inches and antenna. The panel is placed in the cabin and read in the sun and in the dark.
Three frequencies.
The receiver holds all international NAVTEX frequencies: 518 kHz is an international channel, 490 kHz is a national channel, and 4,209.5 kHz is a short wavelength channel for remote areas. The three frequencies cover both international and national transmissions, and areas where the average waves do not finish.
Memory: 6,000 messages
The receiver stores up to 2,000 messages on each frequency, up to 6,000. During the flight, the archive will not be full: the watchman can always return to the message that came a few days ago, and not only to the last.
Docking with the marine system
Integration with the Integrated Navigation System (INS) follows the standard maritime protocol NMEA0183, and the network LAN connector allows you to display messages to other workplaces, not only to the panel in the wheelhouse.
RKO and RMRS Certificates
The set comes with certificates of river and sea registers. What kind of vessel your vessel needs depends on what register it is examined under; say this when ordering, and the completeness of the documents will be confirmed immediately.
What to clarify before ordering
- under which register the vessel is surveyed – RKO, RMRS or both;
- space for the antenna: it needs a point away from the transmitting antennas, otherwise there will be interference;
- Swimming area - the reception area is set at commissioning, the instruction and the order of setting are transmitted with the kit.
About installation and examination in more detail - in the article NAVTEX SAILOR 6390 installation and inspectionIf the ship has a previous receiver - in the technical guide Replacement of the old NAVTEX receiver.
NAVTEX kit for repair parking
For a vessel receiving SAILOR 6390 in Arkhangelsk, spread the receiver, panel, antenna and connections in separate rows. If part of the system remains, attach its marking and diagram. The report will help you compare the complete set and replacement of a certain block.
When accepting in Severodvinsk before working on the White Sea, agree in advance the documents and the amount of preparation. The necessary functions are checked by the manuals of the selected configuration. After approval, keep the composition on each side, so that the next deliveries relate to the same workplace.
